CHINA & CHOPSTICKS

Depart independently for Beijing, China. (PJS can help with the air reservation if needed.)

ITINERARY:
July 30. BEIJING  Upon your arrival at Beijing Int’l Airport, transfer to your hotel.  
Relax until dinner.  Overnight MARCO POLO PARKSIDE HOTEL or similar D

July 31.   Today your tour begins with Tiananmen Square, the largest public plaza in the world. And then proceed to the Forbidden City, the best preserved and most complete collection of imperial architecture in China. After lunch, you will have a visit of the Temple of Heaven which exemplifies Chinese perfection of form and space and was built for important ritual for the emperors. Attend Peking Duck Banquet in the evening.  B/L/D

August 1.   Today’s highlight is the Great Wall built in the fifth century BC to protect China from the aggressive northern Tartars.  You will also visit the Sacred
Way leading to Imperial tombs and Ming Tombs with short biographies of all the
Entombed emperors. For dinner, enjoy the Mongolian hot pot. B/L/D

August 2.   In the morning, you will have a Hutong Tour by rickshaw. Experience a labyrinth of narrow alleys and visit a local resident’s home to experience their daily life.  After lunch, visit the beautiful Summer Palace with the longest corridor in the world and the Marble Boat, are4 situated along Kunming Lake.  Along the way, you will pass the Bird’s Nest, the National stadium. After dinner, the Acrobatics Show.

August 3.  BEIJING to  XIAN
After breakfast, fly to Xian. Lunch on flight. Visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a seven story structure that gives a spectacular view of the ancient walled city. In the evening, enjoy the imperial Dumpling Banquet.  Overnight JINSHI HOTEL or similar B/D

August 4.   In the morning, visit the Terra Cotta Warriors, where thousands of life-size terra-cotta warriors along with the horses, chariots and weapons, have been guarding the emperor’s burial site for over 2,000 years. In the afternoon, a visit to the City Walls and Xian Museum. In evening, enjoy the Tang Dynasty Show. B/L/D

August 5.   XIAN to SHANGHAI

After breakfast, fly to Shanghai. Lunch on flight.  A visit to the Shanghai Museum.

August 6.   Morning visit to Synagogue and Children’s Palace.  Afternoon visit to Yu Garden, a marvelous garden is hidden behind carved brick walls decorated with its undulating dragon walls and lovely lotus pools. Following, a visit to Nanjing Road, a shopper’s paradise. In evening, enjoy the beautiful bund of Huangpu River.

August 7.  So sad, departure day for home.   /p>
