CAMBODIA is home to one of the greatest ancient kingdoms of this region, that of the Khmers. The country’s unique Indian-influenced Khmer culture thrived between the 9th and 14th centuries. Once Cambodia was the cultural center of the region. Today we can still visit the remains from the period of history. The stunning temples and archeological treasures of Angkor Wat lay hidden by jungles for centuries, only to be rediscovered in mid 19th century. We will also visit Phnom Penh which to this day, retains much of its original charm with its contrasting architecture of ancient Khmer temples and classic European buildings from the French colonial era.
VIETNAM a country that combines captivating natural beauty and tranquil village life with a very turbulent history. Much influenced over the centuries by its vast northern neighbor, China; it still has kept its
strong identity. We will visit the elegant capital of Hanoi, with its beautiful French colonial architecture and continue traveling on to HoChiMinhCity (formerly Saigon) where there remains much of our history from the War. During our visit, we will meet friendly people, see brilliant green rice field, thatched bamboo huts, grand colonial buildings, exotic temples, pagodas, beautiful scenery and even sample delicious French-influenced cuisine and much more. Also bring your $$$$dollars as shopping is an adventure with some real bargains.
